All too often personal websites vacillate between narcissism and tedium. They are important as a means of making useful information generally available - both in terms of work done and as a means of supplementing the cold personal details of a CV - but it is all too easy to fall into the trap of toe curling self-indulgence.
We have attempted to steer a careful path between the trite and the tendentious. We are essentially two busy Leed-based francophile political animals who are also culture vultures. Both of us have a predilection for activity rather than passivity and, consequently, as congenital Liberals, no lost cause is unsupported. We have lived in the same unique and warm 1818 house in Bramley since 1981, have had a - shared - cottage in Faugères in the Languedoc since 1991 and have pursued a diversity of usually but not entirely compatible interests.
The different sections on the website endeavour to flesh out these basic attributes. We hope we've avoided at least some of the elephant traps.
